CASA BH2 is a detached house situated in the municipality of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, on the island of Ibiza. The plot slopes from north to south, allowing it to blend seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The layout of the house, the terrace and the swimming pool follows the natural gradient of the land, creating a dynamic and fluid relationship between the different levels of the plot.
The design concept for CASA BH2 is based on a clean, pure, white rectangular form, presenting itself as a simple, modern volume. This structure is enclosed by high stone walls, a feature that not only provides solidity and privacy but also echoes local building traditions. A cross-shaped stone wall runs through the house, acting as both a symbolic and functional element, efficiently dividing and organising the spaces.
The building comprises two storeys. The basement houses the garage, utility rooms and water tanks, fulfilling the necessary functions without interfering with the living areas.
The ground floor houses the main living area, comprising a spacious open-plan living-dining-kitchen area, which creates a bright and fluid space, ideal for socialising and family life. This floor also features a guest toilet and three bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. One of the bedrooms is en suite, with a walk-in wardrobe and private bathroom, offering greater privacy and comfort.
The architectural style of CASA BH2 is characterised by a modern aesthetic that respects and draws inspiration from the essence of Ibizan architecture. Although the design is contemporary, the materials and forms used make a clear reference to the island’s traditional buildings, utilising stone and natural elements that blend seamlessly into the surroundings.
The plot also features a swimming pool which, like the house itself, is adapted to the sloping terrain, providing a space for leisure and relaxation with views of the rural landscape. The terrace, closely linked to the house, allows you to enjoy the outdoor areas, creating an atmosphere of constant connection with nature.
In short, CASA BH2 is a modern home which, through its clean design and use of local materials, honours Ibiza’s architectural tradition whilst offering a contemporary, functional space that is perfectly integrated into its surroundings.
