This detached single-family home, located in the rural surroundings of Puerto de San Miguel, is conceived as a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Ibicencan architecture. The design is based on a clear premise: to respect the character of the place and build from its essence, not its form.

The ground floor layout is resolved through the aggregation of pure volumes, whose heights vary according to the interior use of each room. This approach revives the traditional constructive logic of the island, where each structure was built independently based on its function, resulting in an organic, adaptive, and domestic architecture. The program includes a living-dining room, kitchen, and three bedrooms—one of them en suite—articulated through patios, porches, and shaded areas that enrich the living experience.

The materiality strengthens the bond with vernacular architecture: white-rendered walls, dry-laid local stonework, and sabina wood pergolas that filter light and create shade. The infinity pool acts as a serene horizon and a transitional element between architecture and landscape.

Inside, the project embraces a warm and honest atmosphere: exposed sabina beam ceilings, continuous lime-plastered walls, natural flooring, and handcrafted-inspired furniture that interacts with the changing Mediterranean light. As a nod to Ibicencan tradition, a traditional oven is incorporated into the kitchen façade, reimagined as a functional and symbolic element that connects with the island’s rural memory.

More than a house, this home is an exercise in restraint and attentiveness. An architecture that does not impose, but rather accompanies: the climate, the topography, and the unhurried rhythms of the Ibicencan countryside.
